Firm's Clients Once Again Rank Tops in Patent Quality

In December 2008, IEEE Spectrum magazine published its annual patent analysis study. Instead of just considering the total number of patents issued to a company, the study measures the quality of a company's patents, and calculates an overall score intended to reflect the strength of the company's patent portfolio.

Several of the firm's clients ranked tops in their respective categories:

· Cisco Systems, Inc. of San Jose, CA ranked number 1 in the "Telecom Equipment" category. Cesari and McKenna LLP has been working with Cisco Systems on developing its top ranked patent portfolio for nearly 15 years, and has obtained over 300 patents for this leader in the networking industry.

· NetApp, Inc. of Sunnyvale, CA (formerly Network Appliance) ranked number 6 in the "Computer Peripherals and Storage" category. Cesari and McKenna LLP has been working with NetApp for close to 10 years, and has obtained well over 100 patents for them.

In addition to developing high quality patent portfolios for its clients, Cesari and McKenna LLP also closely manages its cost structure. As a result, the firm is often able to build a company's patent portfolio at a lower cost than that charged by other firms.
